Mutukwa Football Academy emerged as the biggest winners in the Division 2B circuit after Zifa Mashonaland Central introduced monthly awards across its two Division Two leagues.
The inaugural ceremony covered performances from the season’s mid-March kick-off through April, with Mutukwa asserting its dominance.
The academy’s star forward, Trymore Chikorwa, stole the spotlight after completing a double by winning both the Player of the Month and Top Scorer awards.
Chikorwa scored six goals and collected three Man of the Match awards during a prolific run in front of goal.
His success was complemented by coach Clever Nyikadzino, who was named Coach of the Month after guiding the team to five crucial victories in April.
Nyikadzino said the recognition reflected the progress being made at the club.

“It’s an honour and a great privilege to receive such recognition . . . from the league. It’s evidence there is definitely good work in progress at the club,” he said.
Nyikadzino also praised Chikorwa’s work ethic and efficiency in front of the goal.
“Well done to [Trymore] for receiving these two awards. A great reward for his determination and sheer work ethic. That conversion rate — six goals from eight chances — is superb."
While Mutukwa dominated Division 2B, the awards also highlighted talent across the province. In Division 2A, Blessing Kabanda of Canterbury FC mirrored Chikorwa’s feat by winning both Player of the Month and Top Scorer after scoring seven goals.
Mutsenhu Chitonho Nzou of CZA Stars FC was named Coach of the Month for Division 2A, while Nyikadzino shared the Division 2B coaching honours with Zacks Kataya of Rosa Pirates FC, whose side remains unbeaten.
The Golden Glove race is also intensifying, with Division 2B goalkeepers Never Niro and Anyfield Nyanhi leading with four clean sheets each.
Despite a recent frustrating 1–1 draw against Glendale United — a match Mutukwa dominated in possession — the academy remains within touching distance of the league leaders. With 16 points and a game in hand, Nyikadzino says the team’s objective remains clear.
“We’ve got only one target — promotion to the Northern Region Division One League,” he said.
