Namibia: 41 all out in 17 overs (Jurriene Diergaardt 9, Josephine Nkomo 4/7) lost to Zimbabwe 45/1 in 6.3 overs (Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano 28*, Victoria Hamunyela 1/25) by nine wickets.
ZIMBABWE’S national women’s cricket team atoned for their slow start at the ongoing Capricorn Women’s Tri-Series by picking up their third successive win with a dominant victory nine wicket victory over hosts Namibia in Windhoek yesterday.
The ruthless destruction of the Namibians was sweet revenge for captain Mary-Anne Musonda and her teammates after the disappointing loss against the hosts in the opening match of the tri-series, which also involves Uganda.
Although Zimbabwe had bounced back to win their last two matches against Uganda since the setback in the opening match, they were eager to make a statement when they faced off against the Namibians for the second time.
After winning the toss and electing to field, Zimbabwe’s bowlers were ruthless with the ball in hand while the fielders did not give away anything as they dismissed the hosts for a partly 41 runs inside seven overs.

Allrounder Josephine Nkomo, who top scored for Zimbabwe in their second successive win over Uganda on Friday, was impressive again yesterday, bagging four wickets while conceding only seven runs in her three over spell.
Anesu Mushangwe claimed two wickets for seven runs in three overs while Nomvelo Sibanda, Francisca Chipare, Precious Marange and Loryn Phiri all claimed a wicket each in a superb team bowling display.
In pursuit of 42, the left-handed opening duo of Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano and Kelis Ndlovu showed aggressive intent right from ball one and got their side off to a good start.
While Ndlovu fell for 11, Tiripano ensured she was there until the end as she scored an unbeaten 28* off 20 balls, including four fours and one maximum to take her team to a resounding nine wicket win.
Action is set to continue today and tomorrow, with the final scheduled to take place at 14h00 on Tuesday. Zimbabwe are using the Capricorn Women’s Tri-Series to prepare for the Kelis Ndlovu later this year.
