EPIC can be the best word to described multi-award wining singer Jah Prayzah’s Friday show held under the theme Toxic Fridays at Wood Pub & Grill located at Long Cheng Plaza in Belvedere Harare.

With the current environment and month, no doubt that it is almost every artiste’s wish to perform for a full house.

This is a gesture that then comes with some bragging rights not only for the artistes, but also the show promoter or hosts.

Maybe the positive numbers on the night were a result of the government’s further relaxation of the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions on Friday night that heaved a sigh of relief as it came with extended curfew hours.

Curfew hours have also been adjusted to run from midnight until 5:30am in view of the decline in Covid-19 cases and deaths.

Sadly Covid-19 continues to choke not only the showbiz industry.

On the night, Jah Prayzah proved he still has that pulling factor considering the month that has been branded as January disease (not associated to that Theileriosis, a cattle sickness) due to the supposed limited merrymaking spending powers.

As they say figures don’t lie, indeed, the Kutonga Kwaro hit maker pulled the striking numbers and interestingly it was not only inside, but even outside the venue.

The rousing welcome that Jah Prayzah received as he stepped onto the stage was proof of the huge following, he commanded.

As a way of showing respect to the fans, the Uzumba bred singer gave a polished energetic performance that was no doubt of value to the fans hard earned green buck.

With such a well thought after play list that included both his yesteryear and recent hits such as Goto, Machembere, Ndini Ndamubata, Nziyo Yerudo and Angel Lo among others, Jah Prayzah ensured that fans were kept on their dancing shoes throughout the show.

Although there was a moment of darkness due to a power failure, this however, did not dampen the partying mood as fans temporarily joined the musician as backing vocalist as Jah Prayzah continued to sing off the guitars sounds.

Within a few minutes, there were wild screams from the crowd as power was restored.

However, the merrymaking could not continue for long after Jah Prayzah’s stage manager Lloyd “Mabla 10” Kurima gave signal to the band that it was time up.

The revellers however, were left clamoring for more. Away from the stage, many of the merrymakers just appeared to have come for a picnic if the display of their sexually aggressive behaviors outside the venue were anything to go by.

Dressed to kill, one could see how men had a torrid time turning their heads from one end to another in admiration of the gorgeous and smartly garbed ladies as they navigated their way to the show venue.

It was also not that easy for motorist to get that parking space. They struggled to park within the venue’s radius, but this was worth it. They had committed to come and watch their favourite artiste live on the stage.
