In music nothing can inspire more than a responsive fan and a liberal follower, says Kudakwashe Jayden Mutambe (20), a member of the famous Joyful Praise Choir.

Mutambe, who is also pursuing a solo career away from his involvement with the prominent musical collection, has a live performing band called KJay Music.

Born in and raised in Masvingo, the gospel artiste said music allows him the opportunity to minister selflessly.

“I was inspired by the way people were transformed and appreciated whenever I taught the word of God from a tender age to this day,” he said.

“Growing up, I thought of turning my teachings into songs and it’s working.”

Mutambe has a number of singles to his name including hits such as Nyasha Dzenyu, Zvinoziva Zita Rake and Smile, all recorded at Analog Stereo in Masvingo.

He has also recorded Intentional and Gotta Have you Lord, cover songs that the artist said moves his soul.

“It’s the appreciation of other musicians that has given me the hope to see another day coming,” said Mutambe.

“I sing and preach using these songs with the hope that they minister to others in the same way they speak to my soul.

“I am inspired by receptive Christians, who appreciate the word and what it does to our lives and to people around us.”.

Mutambe described his experience at Joyful Praise Choir as an opportunity to connect the dots that separate appreciation for Christ and the bleakness of living a life without purpose.

“Faith and Christianity are inseparable,” he said.

“A man with knowledge and appreciation for Christ is confident and self driven.

“This, l have seen it on the faces of men we speak to as a choir when we tour the country ministering the word.

“Despite the many challenges we experience as a country, it is only through faith music that l am able to see people smile and share their genuine love and joys together.

“And this is our only way of enjoying the common good in Christ.”

The Banking and Finance student at Midlands State University said with seasoned teachers and a right platform, the group was worthy working with.

“Joyful is an amazing choir. I have learnt a lot from Pastor G in music grooming and even from the word he teaches,” Mutambe said.
