CITIZENS Coalition for Change (CCC) Chirumanzu South candidate in last year’s harmonised elections Patrick Cheza (pictured) has left the party saying there was no political change that can be achieved without former president Nelson Chamisa.

Chamisa left the CCC last week citing alleged infiltration by Zanu PF through CCC self-imposed interim secretary-general Sengezo Tshabangu.Tshabangu has since last year recalled several CCC legislators and councillors leading to by-elections that have also been dominated by Zanu PF.

Cheza made the announcement on Friday last week.

“All citizens of Chirumanzu please note that there is no change without the change champion,” he said.

Cheza posted in the Chirumanzu South constituency WhatsApp group that he was leaving the opposition party.

“As the person you stood with (in the August 23 general elections) I have chosen the direction taken by the president Advocate Nelson Chamisa.

“I choose to go with Chamisa and victory is certain. Thank you all for the support you have given me, I appreciate that,” he said.

Contacted for comment yesterday, Cheza, who is also a businessman and farmer, confirmed the development.

“Anything without the change champion-in-chief Advocate Nelson Chamisa is in vain,” he said.
