AN upcoming Zimdancehall artiste is set to launch a recording label this year and believes it will be a force to reckon with in the music industry.
King Jae, born James Munama, told Standard Style that the recording stable was set up in 2020, but the official launch has been set for June this year.
“The recording label is called King James Entertainment and plans are afoot to launch it in June,” Munama said.
“I am confident that the stable will be a force to reckon with because it will be a ‘one-stop shop’ in terms of all things music from production, mastering and marketing.”
According to Munama, the recording label is going to be experimenting with all kinds of music genres.

“Despite that I myself I am a Zimdancehall artiste, the recording label is going to be doing all kinds of genres,” he said.
The Bulawayo-born singer started music with his long time friend, Nashie, while he was doing his ‘O’ Levels.
“My interest in music grew immensely when I was in school together with Nashie, who is now based in Canada,” he said.
“When I hooked up with Nashie, he was already recording and I would accompany him to the studio which exposed me intensely to the music industry.”
But it was in 2010 when the singer who is also a manager at one of the popular fast foods outlet released his first single.
“In 2010 I recorded KaLifeKangu, which featured Kefka and was produced by Nashie. Before my own recording label I once co-founded another one with Nashie and it was called Playlist Records. By then we were a duo, Worstside Kings,” Munama said.
In 2014, the young musician had a stint in South Africa where he collaborated with a couple of artistes among them Tumzar and Rasgika.
It was the release of his six singles that included Shanda, Siyava Louder, ZimboGirl, Ndicharamba Ndakashinga and Siya Vakadaro that won him acclaim such that he got invited for a radio interview at one of the leading local radio stations.
The affable musician believes one can pursue music as a career in Zimbabwe and live off it.
