Police have arrested a 32-year-old suspect in connection with a robbery at Lupane business centre early on August 5.
According to a Zimbabwe Republic Police statement, Thulani Mkandla and an accomplice attacked a complainant at around 4am, stealing a wallet containing US$232 and personal documents.
The break in the case came when Mkandla boarded a mushikashika vehicle headed for Ndlovu Village.
In an ironic twist, he produced the stolen wallet to pay his fare while the complainant was also a passenger in the same vehicle.
The victim immediately identified both his wallet and the suspect, leading to Mkandla’s swift apprehension.
Police confirmed the accomplice remains at large and urged anyone with information to come forward.
