THE Finance ministry has launched the national budget education and consultation outreach programme in Masvingo.

The programme, being implemented in partnership with the Parliament budget office and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe under the theme, “Your Voice, Your Budget, Your Future,” began in Chivi before moving to Gutu and is set to conclude in Bikita today.

In a statement, the ministry said the initiative seeks to ensure that ordinary Zimbabweans have a direct role in influencing national budget priorities.

“The ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, in partnership with the Parliament Budget Office and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, has launched the National Budget Education and Consultation Outreach Programme in Masvingo under the theme, ‘Your Voice, Your Budget, Your Future’,” the ministry said.

The ministry added that the outreach programme reflects the government's commitment to broad-based participation in economic planning and budgeting.

According to the ministry, the consultations are aligned with the country’s long-term development agenda and are intended to strengthen public participation in national decision-making.

The ministry said the outreach has brought together a wide cross-section of stakeholders, including residents, business associations, traditional and local leadership, as well as government institutions, to deliberate on issues affecting their communities.

“The consultations have brought together residents, business associations, local leaders and government agencies, providing communities with a platform to directly influence budget priorities, fiscal policies and investment incentives that support local development and national economic transformation,” the ministry said.
