A wave of spiritual anticipation is building in Shurugwi as Good Shepherd Ministries International prepares to host a six-day crusade expected to draw hundreds of worshippers seeking renewal, healing, and hope.

Dubbed the Shurugwi Crusade, the gathering will be led by Apostle Saidi Kasupe, a preacher known for his energetic sermons and emphasis on deliverance and transformation.

Significantly, Apostle Kasupe was born and raised in Shurugwi, but is now based in South Africa — making this crusade a powerful homecoming as he brings his ministry back to the community that shaped him.

Scheduled to run from May 5 to 10, the evening services will take place at Mambowa shopping centre, turning the community into a vibrant centre of prayer, music and testimony.

Apostle Kasupe said the crusade was anchored on the biblical promise in John 11:40 — “Believe and see God’s glory” — a message he hopes will resonate with communities facing economic and social pressures.

He added that it was all about restoring faith and unlocking breakthroughs in people’s lives.

“This is a season for people to rise above their challenges,” he said.

“We are coming to Shurugwi with a message of hope, healing and deliverance.

“If you believe, you will see the glory of God manifest in your life.”

Residents of Shurugwi and surrounding areas have already begun preparing for the gathering, with church members mobilising people from across the Midlands province. For many, such crusades offer more than spiritual nourishment — they become moments of community unity, emotional healing, and renewed purpose.

Beyond the sermons, the crusade is expected to feature gospel music, testimonies of transformation, and counselling sessions, reinforcing the role of faith-based organisations in supporting communities at grassroots level.
