THERE is probably no way to soften this: Gweru based side TelOne have been abysmal so far in the 2026 PSL campaign, which has now seen seven rounds of action.

The WiFi Boys, who finished fifth last season, are currently struggling and remain winless in 630 minutes of football.

They have managed just three draws and suffered four defeats, with their latest setback being weekend’s 2-0 home loss to Chicken Inn.

With wins proving elusive, coach Herbert Maruwa is undoubtedly a frustrated man.

Nicknamed Jompano, Maruwa will be asking himself plenty of questions especially after last season’s strong finish, whether it’s tactical issues, formation, recruitment or simply a lack of luck on his side this campaign.

The home defeat to the Gamecocks, worsened the situation and with no wins so far, things need to change quickly, otherwise, pressure will continue to mount as it has not been a smooth ride at all.

Maruwa emphasised the need to “work as a family” with the TelOne leadership, expressing concern over their home form, having suffered only defeats (four) this season.

TelOne have dropped 12 points at home, with Maruwa insisting that “something must be done” collectively, including the club’s top brass.

“We now need to work as a family,” he said in a post-match interview.

“Something must be done by TelOne.

“We can’t be losing all our home games but picking points away. I don’t know, but something must be done.”

TelOne’s position 16th in an 18-team log, is already alarming, especially considering the club was once relegated in 2019.

The WiFi Boys now face current log leaders Caps United in their next assignment on Saturday.
