A SOLAR company manager yesterday appeared in court in Bulawayo facing a charge of theft of cash and stock worth more than US$53 000 from his employer.
Zwabamwe Moyo (43) pleaded not guilt to the theft charge when he appeared before Bulawayo regional magistrate Patience Madondo.
He was remanded in custody pending bail ruling.
The court heard that between February 1 and March 17 this year, Moyo allegedly devised a scheme to defraud the company.
He is accused of embezzling US$28 298 in sales revenue and using the money for personal purposes instead of depositing it in the company’s Stanbic Bank account.
Prosecutors further allege that he stole goods worth US$25 243 and sold them.
