THE Primary and Secondary Education ministry has rolled out a digital literacy and artificial intelligence (AI) training workshop for primary and secondary schoolteachers in Gweru.

In a statement released yesterday, Primary and Secondary Education minister Torerayi Moyo said the initiative was part of broader efforts to modernise the classroom.

He said the programme was also designed to empower educators with the digital tools necessary to enhance lesson delivery and prepare learners for a technology-driven future.

“I believe this ICT training will significantly enhance classroom delivery, empowering our teachers with modern digital skills and preparing our learners for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century,” Moyo said.

The training aims to move beyond basic computer literacy, focusing on how AI and digital platforms can be used to make learning more interactive and effective, he said.

“By equipping educators with knowledge in digital literacy and artificial intelligence, we are building a strong foundation for innovation, creativity and critical thinking in our schools.”
