The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has published the names of individuals recently convicted and sentenced for various offences during the week ending February 12, 2026.
In a statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the move aimed to keep the public informed about criminal case outcomes and promote transparency.
He reported that Recent Zhou (25) was convicted of robbery and attempted murder and sentenced to 17 years in prison.
“On February 3, in Masvingo, the accused struck the complainant once on the head with a knobkerrie, robbed him of his valuables and set the complainant’s hut on fire,” Nyathi said.
He said Watson Simango (42) and Timothy Jekero (45) were convicted of armed robbery.
"On December 25, 2025, the pair, armed with pistols, attacked a complainant at his workstation in Chikombedzi, Chiredzi, and robbed him of ZAR 254 890," Nyathi said.

The two were sentenced to a 12-year prison term each.
In another case, Clive Chaparapata (31) was convicted of theft of copper cables and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Nyathi said the accused was apprehended while cutting copper cables from ZETDC conductors in Mazowe.
Additionally, Emmanuel Malawo (61) was slapped with a nine-year prison sentence for unlawful possession of pangolin scales in Victoria Falls.
Nyathi commended the public for providing information that led to the arrest of convicts.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police urges members of the public to continue reporting criminal activities through the national complaints desk,” he said.
