Tickets for South Africa’s biggest league clash and arguably the biggest rivalry match in the Southern African region at the moment, are now on sale.

The blockbuster Soweto Derby is scheduled for February 28.

This represents massive and effective marketing of the Betway Premiership, helping to build early hype and anticipation around the fixture.

In contrast, Zimbabwe’s biggest match of the season, set to be played over the weekend of March 13-15, will most likely see tickets sold on the day, as has often been the case, resulting in unnecessary congestion and confusion at the gates.

This was evident during the last meeting between the two teams at Barbourfields Stadium, where tickets were reportedly sold out before half-time while fans were still queuing outside the venue.

In that particular match, it appeared all gates had run dry.
