A BULAWAYO man has been fined US$125 for wearing military camouflage.
Alpha Moyo (26) pleaded guilty to the charge of wearing military attire illegally when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Takudzwa Gwazemba.
In mitigation, Moyo said he was not aware that wearing military gear was a crime.
Gwazemba ordered him to pay US$125 fine or its equivalent in ZIG before August 15.
“If the fine is not paid by August 15, you are going to face additional legal consequences,” the magistrate said.
The court was told that on July 28, Moyo was spotted by police officers walking at the intersection of Leopold Takawira Avenue and 5th Street dressed in a pair of camouflage trousers. This led to his arrest.
