HARARE, Jul 9 (NewsDay Live)-National airline, Air Zimbabwe, is set to resume direct Harare-London flights in a move aimed at restoring international connectivity and strengthen Zimbabwe's links with key global markets.

In a statement this Thursday, Air Zimbabwe said it will resume services between Harare and London Gatwick starting from July 22, 2026.

"The service will operate three (3) times a week, providing passengers with a convenient, seamless, and reliable travel experience between Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom. Flights will depart Harare on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while retum services from London Gatwick will operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. At London Gatwick Airport, Air Zimbabwe will operate from the South Terminal," said Air Zimbabwe.

The flights are pegged at US$495 one way and US$900 return ticket.

The Harare-London service will be operated using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft under an Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI) wet lease agreement with Spanish carrier Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas.

Air Zimbabwe last operated on this route in 2012 following its suspension by the United Kingdom aviation aithorities due to fleet and operational challenges. The route was a key air link between the two countries.
