Pharaoh said he would let the children of Israel go, but only under certain conditions. In those conditions he stated that they would not go far and after they had sacrificed unto God they were supposed to come back (Exodus 8:28). Many Christians, though they are free, the enemy, like Pharaoh, gave them freedom with conditions. For example, “she can worship but she will not get married, he can be a Christian but he will not get a job”.
I remember the story of a man who described how his sisters had declared that “because he had turned his back on family gods, he would never get a job.” This man had made a decision to be a Christian and those in the family did not agree with his decision. So the sister, who was a sangoma spoke and declared he would never work as long as he did not accept the family gods. And surely at her word the man could not get a job. Many argue and say it’s impossible for a Christian to be subjected under such forms of demonic oppression. Paul said a messenger from satan had been sent to bring pain to him. He was a believer, but there was a messenger from the devil who had been sent to torment him.
Pharaoh knew that the freedom he offered was false and that even if they made the journey, they would still come back. Even after the children of Israel had crossed the red sea and had total freedom, when things were hard they would contemplate going back to Egypt. They were delivered in body but not in mind, their minds were still in Egypt. In times of hardship they would think of the garlic and the good food they had in Egypt.
The cursed man was delivered from the gods of his family and he could not be limited by his sister’s words. But because he had grown up under the system and he believed in his mind that the words the sister had spoken had power, that mindset submitted him under that demonic decree.
Gideon was hiding and yet within him was an ability to liberate his people. He became who God had called him to be when he was given information by the angel of God. Gideon who was once a fearful man became a mighty man of valour from a single encounter. The Bible says my people perish for lack of knowledge. Many Christians are subjected to negative demonic conditions because they have not equipped themselves with knowledge which gives them power to have freedom.

That man, as I began to speak to him I prayed for him, but also showed him he was hidden in Christ and dead to sin. Because of his new position his sister’s demonic decree could no longer affect him. Imagine this man had spent the first three years of his Christian walk limited and under bondage because he lacked knowledge. What’s keeping a lot of people bound is lack of information and through knowledge the just are delivered. That man called me after three days with news that he had found a job and the best thing about the testimony is it was a job he had been trained for and the job he had always desired.
It does not matter what systems are against you. What matters is what God has said about you. Align yourself to that word and break free from any demonic system.
