Gospel musician Phillip Kambare will on Wednesday release a single titled Huvepo, which is a precursor to his forthcoming album.

Kambare made an entrance on the mainstream music scene with the release of his debut album titled Tauya Nerumbidzo in 2019.

Since then, he has never looked back and has been releasing more music.

However, the advent of the Covid-19 early last year has derailed Kambare, who recorded most songs on his 10-track album last year.

“I am releasing a single on Wednesday at 10am and the song is titled Huvepo. It is coming in preparation of the 10-track Visual album which I recorded in 2020,” Kambare said.

“The song Huvepo is derived from the reading on Psalms 91, which talks about the goodness of staying in the presence of God.

“In these trying times the presence of God place to be in.

“This song came in a fun way one night when we were in prayer with my brother Pastor Josh Kays so the room was charged with the presence of God and Pastor Josh started singing as we were praying with simple lyrics Huvepo hwaMwari  huri pano.

“So I started backing him as if I knew the song, yet it was just being poured to him at that given time. We started singing the song louder and louder and everyone who was in the room ended up getting into the song.”

Kambare said Pastor Josh Kays, another accomplished gospel singer, urged him to record the song.

“I gave myself time to study about the presence of God and this led me to Psalms 91,” Kambare said.

“The same song is also on my Visual album which I will be releasing soon.

“Due to the evolution going on we are not going to sell CDs, so an initiative we have created a WhatsApp platform for anyone who would want to have this music and we will send from the day of release to October 3 on Sunday. You can just send #Huvepo on +27718147985.
