Man jailed for raping daughter

A 35-year-old Epworth man will rue the day he laid his hands on his 12-year-old daughter after he was slapped with 18 years in jail by a Harare magistrate yesterday.

The rapist father will however, spend the next effective 15 years behind bars after regional magistrate Estere Chivasa suspended three years on condition of good behaviour.

The man, who is said to have raped his daughter several times, told the court in his defence that his wife had influenced their daughter to lie against him.
