Club life president George Mawere confirmed the development via a statement released yesterday.

FC Platinum have announced changes in their club leadership, with Fabian Mashingaidze and Smartfin Techu stepping down as president and chairperson, respectively.

The changes come a week after the 2023 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season ended with the club finishing in fourth position.

Blessing Garamumhango is the new club president, while Duminsani Sisale takes over the chairperson’s post.

Mashingaidze, however, remains in the clubs structures.

Club life president George Mawere confirmed the development via a statement released yesterday.

“FC Platinum, the renowned football club, has announced changes in its leadership. Fabian Mashingaidze and Smartfin Techu have stepped down from their positions as president and chairperson, respectively, with immediate effect.

“Mashingaidze will be succeeded by Blessing Garamumhango, while Techu will be replaced by Duminsani Sisale.

“Notably, Mashingaidze will continue to serve as the chairperson of the board of directors for the sponsoring business unit, FC Platinum Holdings company.”

FC Platinum were a pale shadow of their self and could only watch as their platinum rivals Ngezi Platinum Stars claimed the bragging rights.

The Norman Mapeza-coached side had a slow start, uncharacteristic of a team that had won four titles on the bounce. By the time FC Platinum was in top gear, rivals Ngezi were already smelling the championship.
