HIGH-FLYING Chicken Inn host an equally impressive Triangle in a top-of-the-table Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash this afternoon at Luveve Stadium seeking to maintain their fine run.

Chicken Inn lead the pack with 18 points from seven matches after humiliating defending champions Dynamos 3-0 at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.

The Gamecocks are separated by two points from second placed Triangle who also dispatched Harare City 3-1 at Gibbo Stadium on Sunday.

It is Triangle gaffer Kelvin Kaindu’s first return to Bulawayo after he quit Highlanders last year and he returns to the City of Kings at a time when Bosso are struggling after suffering their second defeat at Barbourfields Stadium, losing 0-1 to Caps United, which saw them drop to position seven on the log standings.

The Gamecocks have won six games and lost once while the Sugar Sugar Boys have won five times, drew once and lost once and this sets the stage for another scintillating battle.

Joey Antipas, Chicken Inn gaffer says Triangle are a force to reckon with and the schedule is tough as they hit the road to Harare for ZPC Kariba on Saturday.

“It’s another big game against Triangle. We are involved in big games and it does not stop. We just have to move on; there is nothing we can do. We have to keep our composure and remain focused. Triangle are difficult performers and a team to reckon with. It is going to be a tough task, but we don’t have any casualties and we will play our normal game,” Antipas said.

A formidable attack at Chicken Inn has the likes of Edmore Chirambadare, who grabbed a brace against DeMbare, another scorer against Dynamos Mitchelle Katsvairo and the veteran Clemence Matawu.

Chirambadare was signed from Tsholotsho in the close season, but has hut the ground running, outshining most of the experienced top flight strikers.

They are without skipper Danny “Deco” Phiri, who is still serving suspension after the red card against How Mine at Luveve, but have the able Thabani Goredema in the centre. Triangle bounced back to winning ways on Sunday at home after losing to league newcomers Flame Lily at bumpy Larfarge.

Hillary Bakacheza, Richard Kawondera and Cabby Kamhapa were on target for the Kaindu-coached Lowveld side which also has the likes Lameck Nhamo, Pasca Manhanga, Felix Kuswatuka, Ephraim Mwinga and Tichaona Chipunza.

They are also without Meson Nelson due to suspension after he picked up his third yellow card against Harare City on Sunday.

After Chicken Inn, Triangle are back home against struggling Whawha at Gibbo on Sunday and are sure to pick maximum points.
