The two Form 3 students at Senga Secondary School hatched a plan to run away from home and met George Venter, a motor mechanic in the Gweru light industrial area before moving into his house and allegedly having sex adventures with him.

Venter appeared before Gweru magistrate Judith Taruvinga yesterday on allegations of having sexual intercourse with a minor and was remanded to April 8 on $50 bail.

The State said on March 17 this year, the two friends ran away from home and met Venter at his workplace while they were taking a walk in the light industrial area of the city.

Venter is alleged to have called the girls and showed them his private parts before asking them to come back at around 4pm for sex sessions promising to pay each of them $20.

The two girls returned to Venter’s workplace at the agreed time and he allegedly took them to his house where he gave them warm water to bath before having protected sex with one of the girls.

Venter is alleged to have had sex with the other girl on the following day and gave her $20.

It was alleged that the two girls then entered into an agreement with Venter that he would pay them $5 per day for sex.

However, last Sunday, a friend to the father of one of the runaway girls spotted the juveniles entering the gate at Venter’s house and alerted her dad.

A report was made to the police, leading to Venter’s arrest.
