The sassy young musician, born Nicole Chitsvatsva, whose hit tracks Nguba Yareba and Ndagutsikana are topping local music charts, told Southern Eye Lifestyle in an interview yesterday she was working on a dancehall album set to be released before year-end.

“I am currently working on a dancehall album to be released during the festive season,” the soft-spoken starlet said.

“I have a hip-hop album which I released last year, but I have now turned to dancehall music after realising that urban groove is one of the most popular music genrés in Zimbabwe commanding a huge fan base.”

The 17-year-old Speciss College student doing computer studies, said she envisaged growing bigger in the music industry currently dominated by men.

“I look forward to rubbing shoulders with more established artistes locally and internationally so that I learn and get better in music, especially considering that the music industry is male-dominated.

Niccoe, as the rising diva is affectionately known in music circles, is currently signed with Playlist, a local record label nurturing upcoming artistes.

She grew up in Bulawayo’s Nkulumane suburb and got inspiration from her brother DJ Terranto currently making waves in Malawi.

Should her talent be fully nurtured the young artiste promises to be one of the brilliant music stars to be rise from the City of Kings and Queens.
