THIS year’s Mine Entra being held in Bulawayo has recorded an increase in the number of foreign exhibitors compared to last year, organisers said.
The 2026 exhibition, which kicked off yesterday and ends tomorrow, runs under the theme: “UNEARTH, TRANSFORM, PROSPER: Anchoring Economic Transformation Through Mining Value Chains.”
Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) chief executive officer, Nicholus Ndebele, said space uptake by exhibitors stands at 98% with 8,853 m² taken up against a target of 9,000 m².
“This is an improvement compared to the 7,368 m² taken up last year. To date, 276 direct exhibitors have registered for the show compared to 231 direct exhibitors at last year’s Mine Entra,’’ he said.
“We have 33 foreign exhibitors from 8 countries namely Botswana, China, India, Mauritius, Philippines, South Africa, Turkey, United States of America and Zambia.
“This is better than last year’s tally of 231 direct exhibitors including 20 foreign exhibitors from four countries.
“A total of 6,453 business visitors have registered this year, compared to 3 355 who registered and visited the show last year."
Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe chief executive officer Isaac Kwesu said four conference symposiums will be held on the sidelines of the main event.

He highlighted that they managed to invite six international speakers to share their experiences in successful mining jurisdictions.
Vice President Constantino Chiwenag will officiate at today's beneficiation and value addition symposium.
“This symposium directly responds to growing calls for increased beneficiation of the country's mineral resources and the new government thrust to maximize the mining sector's contribution through full beneficiation of mineral resources,” Kwesy said,
Mines minister Polite Kambamura will officiate at another conference today.
“This Main Conference will provide an opportunity for cabinet Ministers and policy makers to give policy direction in enhancing linkages in the mining value chain,” Kwesu added.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa officially opens the annual exhibition on Friday.
