NORTON, Jun. 3 (NewsDay Live) — Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident in Norton in which a 42-year-old pedestrian suffered a fractured leg after being struck by an unidentified motorist.
According to the police, the incident occurred at around 11pm on June 1 along the Harare–Bulawayo Road near a tiling company in Norton.
“The ZRP is investigating a hit-and-run road traffic accident which occurred along Harare–Bulawayo Road, near a tiling company in Norton on 01/06/26 at 2300 hours,” police said in a statement.
“An unidentified motorist driving an unknown vehicle allegedly struck a 42-year-old male pedestrian before speeding off from the scene.”
The victim sustained a fractured right leg and was referred to Harare Hospital, where he remains admitted.
Police have appealed to members of the public for information that may assist in identifying and locating the driver involved in the accident.
