Mnangagwa moves to bury Chiwenga hopes
NewsDay Staff ·

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has praised Zanu PF’s new strategy to build a war chest as the ruling party prepares to railroad reforms designed to elbow out Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga from the succession race, amid rising tension in the ruling party.
Zanu PF is seeking mass public support to ensure the Constitutional Amendment No 3 Bill (CAB 3) sails through legislative processes set in motion earlier this year.
The controversial amendments seek to ensure Mnangagwa remains in power until 2030, a move that would effectively extinguish Chiwenga’s chances of ascending to the presidency.
