KADOMA, Mar. 11 (NewsDay Live) – The rape trial of prominent businessman Patterson Timba has been postponed to Friday, March 13, by Kadoma Regional Magistrate Tandaridze Ignatius Mugova to allow the investigating officer and the medical practitioner who compiled the medical report to testify.
Two witnesses have already taken the stand in the matter.
Timba’s defence lawyer, Tinashe Matiashe, cross-examined the complainant and another witness, challenging the State’s case on two key points.
He argued that Timba was not residing at Tolrose Mine when the alleged offence occurred and sought to have the State’s medical report dismissed, citing the delay between the alleged October 2023 incident and the subsequent medical examination.
The State led by Prosecutor Kudakwashe Charehwa alleges that Timba sexually abused his employee in late 2023.
