Emirates honours Zim travel agents

EMIRATES Airline has honoured Zimbabwe’s top travel agents for strengthening tourism and travel links between Zimbabwe, Dubai and global destinations.

Emirates country manager for Zimbabwe Omar Bushlaibi said travel partners were a strategic pillar of the airline’s success.

“Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, recognises the crucial role local travel agents play in strengthening tourism and travel links between Zimbabwe, Dubai and beyond,” the airline said in a statement.

Emirates, which operates daily flights from Harare and Lusaka to Dubai, remains a significant contributor to Zimbabwe’s economy.

Since commencing operations in 2012, the airline has carried more than 1,1 million passengers on the Dubai-Harare route and operated 9 078 flights between Lusaka and Harare, boosting tourism, exports and business connectivity.

Top inbound destinations to Harare include Dubai, London Heathrow and Beijing, while popular outbound routes include Dubai, Lusaka and London Heathrow.

Emirates said it was committed to expanding its global network and deploying more aircraft featuring its latest cabin products.

“Looking ahead, we are excited to expand our global network and deploy more aircraft with our latest cabins, offering customers even more travel options,” Bushlaibi said.

A new route to Helsinki,

Finland, is scheduled to launch in October 2026.
