Zimsec ‘A’ Level results

HARARE, Jan. 9 (NewsDay Live) – Zimbabwe’s Advanced Level pass rate increased to 95.75% in the November 2025 examinations, up from 94.58% in 2024, the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) said on Thursday.

Some 36,282 candidates sat for two or more subjects, with 34,740 attaining Grade E or better in at least two subjects, continuing an upward performance trend at the level.

The results will be available online from 4:00pm today, January 9, 2026, via the ZIMSEC results portal. Candidates will have five days to access them online before reverting to their respective examination centres.

Overall, 36,635 candidates wrote the November 2025 examinations, compared with 33,585 in 2024, an increase of 3,050 candidates, or 9.08%.

ZIMSEC board chairperson Professor Paul Mapfumo said the rise in both pass rate and candidature reflected sustained improvements in teaching and learning.

School candidates recorded a 96.39% pass rate, up from 95.18% last year, while private candidates posted a 90.77% pass rate, compared with 90.52% in 2024.

ZIMSEC said heads of examination centres will collect results from Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education provincial directors from Monday, January 12, 2026.
