HARARE, Oct 9 (NewsDay Live) – Opposition MP for Nkulumane, Desire Moyo (CCC) died in the early hours of Friday after hitting an elephant near Shangani on the Harare-Bulawayo highway.
Moyo was returning from parliament in Harare with four colleagues, Madalaboy Ndebele, Senator Rittah Ndlovu, Sethulo Ndebele and Libion Sibanda.
He was confirmed dead at the scene but the other four sustained injuries and were taken to Gweru General Hospital for treatment
Moyo was a first-term MP after he beat Phineas Murechu of Zanu PF in the 2023 general elections.
