Life & Style

EXCITEMENT is in the air among gospel music enthusiasts in Bulawayo as South African gospel powerhouse, Spirit of Praise, returns to the city for their “Next Level Tour”, which is scheduled for this Sunday, at the ZITF Hall 3.

According to a post on the group’s official Facebook page, the tour will feature a star-studded line-up of some of the Spirit of Praise top voices including Zaza Mokhethi, Sindi Ntombela, Mpumi Mtsweni, Dumi Mkokstad, Canaan Nyathi, Omega Khunou, Everton Mlalazi, Ayanda Ntanzi, Xola Toto and Lufuno Dagada.

The group will be joined by special guest pastor Mthunzi Namba, known for his dynamic worship ministry.

The Spirit of Praise ensemble last performed in Bulawayo during their Spirit of Praise 10 album tour, a concert that drew thousands of worshippers and received an overwhelmingly warm reception.

Fans still recall the energy and spiritual atmosphere that engulfed Harvest House International Conference Centre during that performance, an experience many described as “life-changing”.

“I’ve attended gospel shows before, but nothing compares to Spirit of Praise,” said Sibongile Ndlovu, a gospel enthusiast.

“Their last show here uplifted my spirit in ways I can’t explain. I’m counting down the days. I can't wait.”

Another fan Tinashe Moyo also shared similar sentiments, expressing his joy over the diverse line-up.

“Dumi Mkokstad and Mpumi Mtsweni are my favourites,” he said.

“Their worship is pure and powerful.

“To have them all here again is such a blessing.

“I remember last year it was really uplifting.”

Spirit of Praise fan Faith Dube said: “It’s a spiritual revival. Spirit of Praise brings people together across denominations to worship as one. I can’t wait to experience that unity again.”

Spirit of Praise recently released its album, Spirit of Praise 11, which includes powerful songs like Usibiyele, Lomhlengi/Uvukile, Ukhona and NguJesu, among others.
