Night With Feli Nandi set for live recording

Life & Style
Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style Feli Nandi said she would record new songs which would, however, not be released until the studio version of the tracks is released.

SONGSTRESS and fashion designer Felistas Chipendo, popularly known as Feli Nandi in showbiz, will tonight take her music career to another level with a debut live DVD recording dubbed A Night With Feli Nandi at the Harare International Conference Centre’s Lower Deck.

Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style Feli Nandi said she would record new songs which would, however, not be released until the studio version of the tracks is released.

“The purpose of this live DVD recording is to reintroduce my songs from when I started my career,” she said.

She gave an insight into some of the new songs like Muti Watemwa and Famba Neni that will be featured in the live recording.

“The song Muti Watemwa is derived from the Shona adage Chinokangwa idemo implying that the one who wrongs others will forget their wrongdoing, but the one who was wronged will not forget. The song encourages people to be careful with words, what they say and to who,” she explained.

“The song Famba Neni is a happy love track that individuals can dedicate to their loved ones or can be just sung from a gospel perspective.”

In her composing, Feli Nandi said she wrote songs after looking deeply into her life or her friends’ lives.

Some of Feli Nandi’s popular songs include Mufudzi  weMombe, a duet with Trevor Dongo, Mubayei featuring The Unveiled and Sarungano, featuring contemporary musician Jah Prayzah.

Over the years, Feli Nandi has grown her artistry to greater heights and has bagged prestigious awards along the way.

She is vying for the Outstanding Female Musician award at the National Arts Merit Awards set for this Saturday in Bulawayo. In her category, she will battle for honours with contemporary musician Vuyo Brown and gospel sensation Janet Manyowa.

Feli Nandi has partnered Gateway Stream Media, a subsidiary of the Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG), for her first-ever live recording that promises to be an unforgettable evening of music and memories.

Gateway Stream Media manager Elton Kurima said Feli Nandi’s live recording would be shared on online platforms, offering a captivating showcase of what awaits fans at the event.

“Don’t miss your chance to be part of this historic event. This live recording holds a special purpose, serving as a vibrant reintroduction for Feli and a platform to remind audiences of her enduring musical legacy,” he said.

“This special performance accompanied by her full band marks a significant moment in Feli Nandi’s career, offering a captivating glimpse into her electrifying live experience. She will weave a mesmerising tapestry of beloved hits, forgotten gems from her past, and exciting new tracks soon to be released.”

Kurima added that tickets were available at 295 Samora Machel Avenue corner Elsworth East at Belgravia shops, as well as Rainbow Towers.
