Veteran 'Generations' actor Seputla Sebogodi has died

According to the statement, released by his immediate family, the actor died on the evening of July 15, 2026, following complications related to diabetes.

Veteran South African actor Seputla Sebogodi has died. Sebogodi appeared on numerous productions and was renowned for his villainous character, Kenneth Mashaba, on "Generations".

His death was announced in a statement posted on Actor Spaces. 

According to the statement, released by his immediate family, the actor died on the evening of July 15, 2026, following complications related to diabetes.

"Seputla Sebogodi leaves behind an extraordinary legacy in South African theatre and television. He will be rememembered for his memorable performances in 'Generations', 'Suburban Bliss', 'Bophelo ke Semphego', 'Redemption', and most recently 'Scandal!', as well as his acclaimed theatre work in productions including 'Big Dada', 'Waiting for Godot', 'The Rivonia Trial', 'Once a Pirate' and 'Mooi Street Moves', among many others.

"His legacy will live on through his remarkable body of work and the many lives he touched," read the statement.

The family has requested privacy as they mourn the immense loss and navigate the difficult time together.
