Mnangagwa pays tribute to late Mozambican leader Machel
Wilmah Piningo ·

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called on southern African leaders to honour the legacy of late Mozambican leader Samora Moises Machel by fulfilling the ideals he fought for, as the region marked 40 years since his death.
In a statement issued Monday to commemorate the anniversary, Mnangagwa said Machel’s vision of a just society, peace and economic sovereignty remained a “timeless goal” for current and future African leaders.
Machel died on October 19, 1986 in an air disaster in South Africa, along with 33 other people.
