Mangombe happy with progress at Yadah

The only worrying issue was the low conversion rate, with the team struggling to put away a number of chances, he said.

By Courage Nyaya Yadah head coach Genesis Mangombe is happy with the progress his team has made after recording their second win on the trot with 1-0 win over ZPC Kariba. The win followed their defeat of Dynamos last week by a similar scoreline.

Mangombe says his player have gained in confidence and are now expressing themselves freely.

“The team is playing very good football and my boys now have the confidence that they can win every game and winning away to giants ZPC Kariba proves that nothing is impossible. The confidence, will power and understanding of each other among players which I wanted is now there in the team,” Mangombe told NewsDay Sports.

The only worrying issue was the low conversion rate, with the team struggling to put away a number of chances, he said.

“Winning with a one-goal margin is not safe and is not easy, but we don’t have natural strikers. I am worried about that but I’m working on how we can improve on converting the chances we create because in every match we create a lot of chances but we fail to capitalise.”

Yadah’s next match is against Harare City at the weekend and Mangombe expects a tough match.

“We are now preparing for Harare City. They are wounded and they are also not safe on the log standing so its going to be a tricky game. The team is playing very good football so it’s not going to be an easy game.”
