Ngadziore went on a fact-finding mission after pictures of deplorable Ellis Robins dormitories went viral.

BY PRIDE MZARABANI HARARE’S ward 16 councillor Denford Ngadziore (Citizens Coalition for Change) says Ellis Robins Boys High School in Mabelreign was in dire need of a facelift.

Ngadziore went on a fact-finding mission after pictures of deplorable Ellis Robins dormitories went viral.

“From the visit, I managed to note that the school infrastructure, including hostels and halls, need urgent refurbishment. The standards drastically fell in 2008 when the country experienced an economic crisis,” he said.

“I was advised that the school development committee (SDC) is making separate efforts in the form of fundraising activities in partnership with Ellis Robins Old Boys Alumni Association.

“From the informal discussion, I made commitments to have a discussion with Harare West MP Hon Joanah Mamombe and Community Development Fund committee to see if a few resources can be set aside to refurbish one of the hostels. Education is important, the learning environment is equally important.”
