Diesel, petrol prices slightly drop

In a statement, the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) said diesel and petrol prices slightly dropped by 0,06% and 0,29%, respectively.

BY PRIVELEDGE GUMBODETE FUEL prices went down yesterday though by an insignificant margin, while the ethanol blending ratio has remained at E15.

In a statement, the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) said diesel and petrol prices slightly dropped by 0,06% and 0,29%, respectively.

Diesel will now cost $714,45 down from $714,91 per litre in local currency, while petrol now costs $675,35 down from $677,32 per litre.

Using the greenback, diesel now costs US$1,80 down from $1,86, while petrol now costs US$1,70 down from US$1,76.

“Operators may sell the petroleum products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages and should display prices in prominent places as provided for by the fuel pricing regulations,” Zera said.

Prices of petrol and diesel have been increasing worldwide, risking political upheaval in some countries.

Government has blamed the high fuel prices on the Russia-Ukraine war.
