Established in 1991, the Child Parliament is an advocacy arm for children’s rights consisting of the National Assembly and the Senate, representing all the country's 10 provinces and constituencies.

BY PRIVELEDGE GUMBODETE THE Zimbabwe Youth Council (ZYC) has announced that the 30th session of the Children’s Parliament will officially open on Saturday in Harare.

Established in 1991, the Child Parliament is an advocacy arm for children’s rights consisting of the National Assembly and the Senate, representing all the country’s 10 provinces and constituencies.

This year’s theme will be Eliminating Harmful Practices Affecting Children: Progress on Policy and Practice Since 2013.

The sitting of the Children’s Parliament will coincide with commemorations of the Day of the African Child.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to grace the event.
