In an interview yesterday, Impala Music Group representative DJ Simz said the stage was set for the concert expected to serve an intoxicating heavy dose of entertainment, adding that revellers must come in their numbers.

BY WINSTONE ANTONIO ALTHOUGH there is no bush at Alexandra Sports Club, hip-hop fans are set for a treat when South African hip-hop star Emtee headlines the Bush Party concert at that venue tomorrow night.

Local music promoters Impala Music Group and The Chill Out have joined hands to fly in Emtee for the potentially explosive concert in the capital.

Born Mthembeni Ndevu, Emtee will touch down at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport tomorrow morning.

This is not the first time the Roll Up hitmaker is performing in the country. He has performed at the Shoko Festival organised by Magamba Network.

In an interview yesterday, Impala Music Group representative DJ Simz said the stage was set for the concert expected to serve an intoxicating heavy dose of entertainment, adding that revellers must come in their numbers.

“Music has the power to unite different nationalities and, in this regard, we have invited popular South African rapper Emtee for a performance alongside our own top hip-hop’s finest at the Bush Party show,” he said.

“This is a show not to be missed as it features top hip-hop stars making waves in their separate careers. I encourage fans to buy their tickets in advance to avoid stampedes at the gate.”

DJ Simz said advance tickets were selling at US$5 and will double at the gate. The VIP ones are pegged at US$20.

He said they joined hands with Chill Out for the concert as part of their initiatives to foster unity between promoters and artistes for the growth of the local showbiz sector.

“The growth of our arts sector needs unity among us promoters and artistes themselves. So as Impala Music Group we believe in team work that gives value of entertainment to the fans,” he said.

The Mzansi rapper will be joined at the show by local acts that include Voltz JT who feels honoured to rub shoulders with a brother in music from across the Limpopo.

“It is an honour man . . .  I have been an Emtee fan since day one . . . I cannot wait to show him what I can do and the impact Zim hip-hop has accumulated,” Voltz JT said.

Holy Ten, Nu Vibe, Eve, Andile Brown and Simba are also expected to perform.

With such a rich line-up of performers, music followers no doubt will be treated to top-class performances since all the invited artistes have a record of sterling performance during past concerts.
