Bulawayo City fire coach Ncube

Philani “Beefy” Ncube

BOTTOM-PLACED Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Bulawayo City have parted ways with coach Philani “Beefy” Ncube following a string of poor results that saw the club drown in the relegation zone since the start of the season.

This was always coming after the coach indicated he would decide about his future within 24 hours after his side lost 1-0 to city neighbours Bulawayo Chiefs at Barbourfields Stadium on Saturday.

Bulawayo City FC spokesperson Lovemore Dube confirmed Ncube’s departure, adding that Mduduzi Mpofu and Johannes Ngodzo would take charge of the team in the interim.
Beefy met with the club executive yesterday morning where both parties resolved to part ways.

“The club executive met in the morning with the coach and decided to disengage. He has been a loyal and committed member of the club and we will always be indebted to him for all the hard work he put in. He will always be part of the Bulawayo City. We wish him the best of luck in his next job. In the meantime, Mduduzi Mpofu and Johannes Ngodzo will be in charge until further notice,” Dube said.

However, Mpofu and Ngodzo fall short of the Zifa Caf A requirements to preside over a club in the top league.
