BY TREVOR MUTSVAIRO A-38 YEAR old Mufakose man was today arraigned before Harare magistrate Yeukai Dzuda facing rape and robbery charges.

Andrew Munemo Masiiwa was remanded in custody to May 9 for provision of his trial date, and advised to approach the High Court for bail.

Allegations were that on February 8 this year, the accused met the complainant who was his lover at Chicken Inn along Robson Manyika.

He allegedly asked the complainant to accompany him to his house in Waterfalls.

They walked to Waterfalls, passing through maize fields where the accused then suddenly turned violent, took the complainant’s possessions and robbed her of her Itel S16, a sling bag, and cash amounting to US$80-00.

He then raped her.

The matter was reported the following day at Waterfalls police station.

Anesu Chirenje prosecuted.
