Police probe Mutare murder case

Acting provincials police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the incident yesterday.

BY KENNETH NYANGANI POLICE in Manicaland province are investigating a matter in which a Mutare man allegedly murdered his wife in cold blood before hanging her on a roof truss in a bid to conceal the murder over the weekend.

Acting provincials police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the incident yesterday.

He said on Saturday at around 6am, Rumbidzai Mushipe, who is a tenant in Hobhouse suburb in Mutare, opened the now-deceased Brylian Ngare’s room and found her hanging on a roof truss.

The shocked Mushipe then alerted neighbours, who made a police report.

Investigations by the police resulted in the arrest of Joel Mutasa (29), who was panning for gold in Penhalonga.

Mutasa reportedly admitted that he murdered his wife.
