HIGH-FLYING Manica Diamonds will miss three key players when they take on Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Yadah at Baobab Stadium tomorrow.

Despite playing some of the most entertaining football in the league, Yadah are still winless, having drawn their last three matches.

Manica Diamonds’ confidence will not be dented by the absence of Tichaona Mabvura, Nyasha Chintuli through injury and Lloyd Katongomara, who is suspended, after making a big statement of intent by thrashing giants Caps United 6-2 last week.

Coach Johannes Nhumwa said everything was going well for them in the run-up to the match despite injuries.

“We are ready for Yadah FC. Everything is going on well except for injuries of Tichaona and Nyasha. Lloyd is also out as he is serving suspension having been shown a red card,” Nhumwa said.

“Yadah is a big and tactical team compared to us. Yadah has also posted good results, so we need to be prepared considering that they are playing home.”

The result against Caps has boosted their confidence which was already high as they have been posting good results.

“Our win against Caps is a morale booster. It becomes easy for the coach to prepare the team which is coming out of such a win.”

Yadah FC coach Genesis Mangombe said he was comfortable with a share of the spoils.

“We are playing log leaders. They are playing good football of late. That they scored half a dozen goals means they are a good side which should be  given the respect they deserve,”  he said.

Mangombe  said he wanted to see his side being more compact at the back.

“We have to minimise the damage. We need to be tactical as we approach this match. We will make sure that we are solid at the back.  We need a win so that we boost the morale of youngsters and the newcomers. If we manage to get a draw it is fine with us,” he said.
