Mabvuku man nailed for stealing TelOne cables

Allegations are that on March 9 this year, Kweshe and his accomplice Tawanda Hove (29) who is already in custody, went to St Patricks Road in Hatfield, Harare and cut underground cables.

BY TREVOR MUTSVAIRO A HARARE man was yesterday dragged to court for allegedly stealing 250 metres of TelOne cables valued at $942 500.

Prichard Kweshe (33) was remanded in custody to today for bail application.

Allegations are that on March 9 this year, Kweshe and his accomplice Tawanda Hove (29) who is already in custody, went to St Patricks Road in Hatfield, Harare and cut underground cables.

They loaded them onto a Mazda BT3500 vehicle.

The court alleges that the vehicle got stuck in the mud close to Epworth.

At around 0300hrs, members of the public apprehended him and handed him over to the police.
