In-form Manica Diamonds, Triangle clash

They each have 13 points having dropped five points so far in the campaign.

By Courage Nyaya In-form Manica Diamonds and Triangle, who have both started the season on a good footing will each be hoping to continue with their good run when they square off at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare tomorrow.

The two sides have been the surprise packages so far, even though the season is still in the early days, with Manica Diamonds sitting second on the table behind Chicken Inn who are a position below with the same number of points.

They each have 13 points having dropped five points so far in the campaign.

The Gem and Sugar Sugar Boys clash promises to be an exciting one as the two teams have previously produced goals fiestas whenever they collided.

They met in the league on two occasions with the first date a thriller that ended with a 4-3 scoreline in favour of Manica Diamond at Sakubva Stadium, while the second meeting ended in a 2-2 deadlock.

Triangle FC coach Jairos Tapera is taking the game with caution and is well aware of the threat his opponents can pose.

“Manica Diamond is not only above us on the log, but they are also the most expensively-assembled team with well-resourced structures. We have great respect for them, but we are going there to do the best we can as Triangle. We see them as a better prepared team against us who are only seven weeks together. We have some of the regular players on the injury list including Daniel Magaisa, Russel  Madamombe,  Emaculate Chideya and we wait to hear  from the doctor about Arnold Chiveya,” Tapera said.

Both teams have so far produced some major upsets with Caps United having been walloped 6-2 by Manica Diamonds, who also accounted for Highlanders, while Dynamos fell victim to the Sugar Sugar Boys as did Ngezi Platinum Stars.
