BY TREVOR MUTSVAIRO A-26 year old Harare resident was yesterday arraigned before Harare magistrate Yeukai Dzuda facing attempted murder charges.

Tawanda Chari was remanded in custody to April 11 after the State opposed bail saying his case was serious. He was advised to approach the High Court for bail.

It is alleged that on February 2 this year at Mandaza Bar Gazebo in Caledonia, around 2200hours, the complainant together with Chari were involved in a dispute.

During the melee, Chari then allegedly intentionally hit the complainant with a hammer, iron bar and stones all over his body resulting in him sustaining injuries.

The complainant was immediately referred to the nearest hospital for medical attention, while Chari was arrested and slapped with attempted murder charges.
