ALPHA Media Holdings (AMH) editorial board chairperson and former Harare mayor Muchadeyi Masunda’s wife, Fikile Patricia Faith Masunda (nee Phezulu) has died.

According to a family spokesperson, her health deteriorated on Friday and she was rushed to Milton Park Medical Centre in Harare where she regrettably passed away at 11:30am.

“There will be a memorial service at the Anglican St Luke’s Parish at 1 Rhodesville Avenue, Greendale, Harare at 8am on Tuesday, March 15,” the family spokesperson said.

“She will be buried in the reserved section of Warren Hills Cemetery at 11:30am on the same day.”

In his condolence message yesterday, editor-in-chief Wisdom Mdzungairi said the AMH family was in shock following the death of the former mayoress.

“It is a difficult time for (Masunda) and the AMH family is with him in his grief,” he said.

Former Harare mayor Bernard Manyenyeni said he was shocked by the news of the death of Masunda’s wife.

“The news was received with shock after believing that she was recovering well.

“My wife and I sent a word of sympathy to Alderman Masunda and his sons following this sore loss.

“We pray for their healing and recovery from all the pain that has visited them in this dark hour,” Manyenyeni said.
