BY CHIEDZA MAZHANGARA Producers of a new local talent show titled AMA2K have identified a lot of rising musicians who are hungry for platforms to showcase their talents.
Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style Herzilet Dube (pictured), who is one of AMA2K show’s managers said through their show, they would assist rising artistes access platforms to distribute their music.
“We are working on a talent identification show whereby 20 up-and-coming artistes aged between 18 to 30 are required to send us their material that will then be judged to choose 10 artistes,” he said.
“The 10 lucky artistes will make it to the second trimming and for the third round their videos will then be posted on our channel and the viewers’ votes will constitute 80% while 20% will come from the judges.
The winners will get cash prizes.”
Dube said in coming up with the talent show, he sought to create a platform for budding artistes who struggle to get mainstream coverage.
“I have discovered that most young artistes are sidelined in the showbiz industry as they rarely get coverage by the mainstream media.
They also lack resources to access the platforms to even interact with the fans,” he said.

“Preparations for the start of the AMA2K Talent Show are at an advanced stage.
Although we are still working on getting a team of judges, we are happy that there has been great co-operation from both the up-and-coming and prominent artistes who are willing to assist.”
He added: “The response that we have been getting from young artistes is overwhelming.
While we target young artistes, we are happy to have attracted experienced artistes as well as some companies and event organisers who want to work with us.”
