Ngoma resurfaces at Ngezi Platinum

BY TERRY MADYAUTA FORMER Warriors striker Donald Ngoma has resurfaced at Ngezi Platinum after a failed attempt to reclaim his place at FC Platinum where he rose to stardom before moving to Tanzania in 2015.

Ngoma rejoined FC Platinum early last year, having spent the better part of 2020 without a club when he returned from Tanzania.

That followed a series of below par performances which rendered him superfluous at Young Africans and later on Azam, where he spent less than a year.

Upon return to Zvishavane, there was a ray of hope that the 32-year-old would add firepower to FC Platinum’s strikeforce as they were participating in the Caf Champions League.

However, he hardly made impact in the Champions League matches that he featured and was subsequently overlooked when the club registered players for the Chibuku Super Cup and Premier Soccer League.

It appears the gangly forward was not in Norman Mapeza’s plans as he was released together with the likes of Silas Songani, Ralph Kawondera, Denzel Khumalo, Rahman Kutsanzira and Kelvin Madzongwe.

FC Platinum spokesperson Chido Chizondo confirmed that the Kwekwe-born centre forward had left.

It is not clear if Ngoma has already agreed terms with the Mhondoro Ngezi side, with Chicken Inn also revealing that they are interested in his services.
