BY TERRY MADYAUTA Warriors midfielder Marshal Munetsi is delighted after returning from a lengthy injury spell on a emphatic note after scoring in Stade Reims’ thumping 5-0 win over Bordeaux on Sunday.
The former Orlando Pirates had last played on December 6 last year against Olympic Lyonnais when he aggravated a muscle problem.
That injury meant he missed out on the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.
Prior to that, the workhorse midfielder had also been on the treatment bed since October when he suffered a muscle strain.
The elated Munetsi posted on Twitter, sharing his joy after overcoming the injury setbacks.
“It’s so good to be back after a lengthy injury setback, anyone can overcome setbacks with focus and determination.
“A big performance by the team and now shift our focus for the next game. @StadeDeReims @adidasfootball @wass_football #GODISGREAT,” the post read.
He missed the Africa Cup of Nations finals along with Marvelous Nakamba, Marshall Munetsi, Brendan Galloway and Devine Lunga.
